The 5th thousand, and the second published printing. Following the suppressed 1865 first printing and the 1865 first published edition (dated 1866 on the title page).
This printing was issued in late 1866, but dated 1867 to the title page. Our copy includes a contemporary inscription dated 1866.
Newly bound in full red morocco by Bayntun-Riviere of Bath.
A very early printing of this timeless children's classic, in a binding of the very highest order.

Browsers are welcome by appointment. We are usually open from Monday to Saturday between 10am and 6pm, but please telephone to confirm.
The village of Tarrington is located on the A438 midway between Hereford and Ledbury. Only 15 minutes from junction 2 on the M50 motorway, and a convenient stop if you are en route to Hay-on-Wye.
When arriving in Tarrington take the road alongside the Tarrington Arms (School Road). We are located on the corner of School Road and Church Lane in a 17th Century black and white timber framed cottage. There is ample parking in the village car park, a pleasant 2 minute walk away.
